LEGO people, officially called LEGO minifigures, were introduced in 1978 and have since become one of the most recognizable toy designs in the world. Standing about four centimeters tall, they feature a simple, iconic form with movable arms, hands, and legs, designed to fit perfectly within LEGO’s modular building system. Over time, minifigures evolved from basic yellow-faced characters with simple smiles into highly detailed figures with diverse facial expressions, hairstyles, accessories, and licensed identities from popular movies, games, and comics. These tiny characters help bring LEGO sets to life by encouraging storytelling, role-play, and creativity, making them central to both play and collecting. Today, LEGO people are cultural icons, celebrated for their timeless design and their role in inspiring imagination across generations.
