The Squidward Toy from Viacom, released around 2000, is an early licensed merchandise item based on Squidward Tentacles from SpongeBob SquarePants, which debuted in 1999. Typically produced as part of promotional toy lines or small collectible figurine sets, this Squidward toy captures his distinctive long-nosed, grumpy expression and minimalist design from the show’s early animation style. Made in the period when SpongeBob was rapidly gaining popularity, it reflects Viacom’s early efforts to expand the franchise through character-based collectibles that appealed to both children and emerging fans of the series’ quirky humor.
