1951 Print Ad Poster Mug (Gift Gate 1997)
The 1951 Print Ad Poster Mug (Gift Gate, 1997) is a nostalgic collectible that reproduces the look of classic mid-century American advertising on a functional ceramic mug. Released by Gift Gate in 1997, the mug features artwork inspired by a 1951 print advertisement, complete with retro typography, period illustrations, and warm vintage color tones that evoke post-war optimism and everyday Americana. Gift Gate was known in the 1990s for turning nostalgic graphics into giftable home items, and this mug fit perfectly into that trend, appealing to collectors of vintage ads as well as casual users who enjoyed retro kitchen décor. Today, the mug is appreciated as a crossover collectible—part drinkware, part advertising ephemera—valued for its throwback charm and faithful recreation of early 1950s design style.
Coke Sign Art - Gift Gate 1997
The Coke Sign Art – Gift Gate (1997) is a decorative Coca-Cola–themed display piece released by Gift Gate during the late 1990s, a period when nostalgic soda advertising art was especially popular among collectors. Designed to resemble classic vintage Coca-Cola signage, it typically features the brand’s iconic red-and-white color scheme, flowing Spencerian script logo, and retro graphic elements inspired by mid-20th-century diner and drugstore signs. Made primarily as wall décor or tabletop display, the piece was marketed as a giftable home accent rather than a commercial sign, blending pop culture with Americana charm. Today, the 1997 Gift Gate Coke Sign Art is appreciated by Coca-Cola memorabilia enthusiasts for its period style, accessible size, and representation of the 1990s revival of classic Coke advertising aesthetics

Li’l Luvables Cat 14214 - Russ Berrie (1990s)
There’s very little public information about a Li’l Luvables Gray Cat resin figurine by Russ Berrie. The piece belongs to the “Li’l Luvables” (sometimes styled Li’l Luvables) line, which was designed by Kathleen Kelly under Russ Berrie’s Critter Factory brand. The figurine is made of painted resin, and its catalog number 14214 is sometimes listed alongside other small critters in the mid-1990s. According to listings, the Gray Tabby Cat version appears to have been produced around 1994, although exact production records are scarce.

Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel Salt and Pepper Shaker Sanrio (Gift Gate 2000)
The Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel Salt and Pepper Shaker set from Sanrio Gift Gate in 2000 is a charming ceramic collectible featuring the beloved duo in coordinated outfits designed to sit together as a matching tabletop display. Made with smooth, glossy ceramic typical of Sanrio’s early-2000s home décor line, each shaker is shaped as a full figurine—Hello Kitty often depicted in a pastel dress and Dear Daniel in a complementary suit—complete with discreet fill holes and shaker perforations that blend seamlessly into the design. Sold at Sanrio Gift Gate stores as part of a millennium-era wave of character houseware items, the set is prized today for its nostalgic craftsmanship, its cute couple motif, and its representation of Sanrio’s shift toward lifestyle-oriented merchandise around the year 2000.

Coke Bottle Miniature Replica (Gift Gate circa 2000)
Gift Gate, the popular Sanrio retail chain in the Philippines known for selling Hello Kitty and other character merchandise, saw its final year of operation around 2022, marking the end of an era for many fans who grew up visiting its pink-themed stores. Established in the 1980s, Gift Gate became a nostalgic destination for collectors of kawaii items, school supplies, and accessories. However, due to changes in retail trends, the rise of online shopping, and declining mall foot traffic, the brand gradually closed its branches nationwide. Its last remaining stores quietly shut down, leaving behind fond memories of its signature charm and the joyful world of Sanrio it once brought to Filipino shoppers.

My Winning Fast Food Toy
Guess who came to say hello to Kitty
Virgie Ramos was happy.
The president of the Gift Gate Group of Companies was happy because families turned out at the activity center at the Glorietta, Makati to celebrate “Hello Kitty! Hello Gift Gate! Day” last Sunday.
She was happy, especially because, of the people who attended, over 70 percent responded to a survey which usually they could not be bothered with. Just by looking around, one could see a lot of happy faces on the people participating in all activities.
People attended the different events and activities including Switch to Swatch, Lego-building contests, Sanrio Festival games, the Benetton Interactive disco Booth and Personal Style Consulting, Russ Christmas in September, the Kinder Zoo animal petting area and Montblanc’s fairy tale hour.
One of the highlights was the 32” Hello Kitty doll that is a life-size replica of a painting President Cory Aquino gave to her granddaughter Jia Dee. Because they were so excited with the “Dress Up Your Kitty” event, Sanrio flew in this honorary entry to the contest to encourage other contestants to really make the best dioramas they could.
Among the many celebrities in attendance were Vina Morales, Jolina Magdangal, Deither Ocampo, KC Montero, Paolo Bediones, Kris Aquino and Mikee Cojuangco.
During the”Dress Up Your Kitty” contest sneak preview, early entries impressed judges Ana Buenaventura, China Cojuangco, Girlie Rodis, March Ventosa and Inno Sotto who chose five winning dioramas: “Queen of the Flowers of Kitty’s Fairyland” by Joy Yanong, “Hello Kitty as Catwoman" by Percival R. Lugue, “Señorita Kitty” by Ma. Teresa Buenaobra, “Debut Kitty” by Ana Villaroman and “Millennium Bride” by Analyn Sarmiento. Winners received Php 10,000 worth of gift certificates, and automatic entry into the “Dress Up Your Kitty” finals on Oct. 15.
Prizes up to Php 100,000 await the grand prize winner on that day, also at the Glorietta. Any kind of Hello Kitty or Dear Daniel doll can be used for the various dioramas, and since electricity will be provided for the entries, contestants can light up their entries with whatever electronic gimmickry their imaginations and creativity can come up with. Entries in particular categories are limited to 2x2 ft. However, entries for the grand prize are not limited in size. All entries must be brought to Club Fun, 3/F Glorietta 2 from Oct. 1-10. Fifty thousand pesos await all winners in each of the 10 categories. All category entries are also eligible for the grand prize. All winners will be features in the upcoming Hello Kitty memories book.
The finals of the “Dress Up Your Kitty Contest” will be part of the activities at “Hello Kitty! Hello Gift Gate! Glam Jam” at the Glorietta on Oct. 15, another day-long party of style, trends and glamour where visitors are invited to show up in their party wear.
