In February 2026, McDonald’s Philippines celebrated the Lunar New Year — the Year of the Fire Horse — with a special Chinese Zodiac toy collection as part of its seasonal promotion. For a limited time, customers could collect 12 Chinese zodiac-inspired figurines that reimagined popular McDonald’s characters like Grimace, Hamburglar, and Birdie as the different zodiac animals, each housed in a cute, detachable shell with a colored gem that could be swapped across the set. There was also an extra golden horse shell to highlight the Year of the Fire Horse, and fans were encouraged to mix and match characters and shells to create their own combinations. These collectibles were available through a “Lucky Combo” — by adding a set amount to any meal, customers received one zodiac toy along with an upgrade to the new Golden McFloat, alongside other in-store and app-exclusive festive offers.
