Snorlax is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in the original games, Pokémon Red and Blue, developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo. Known as the “Sleeping Pokémon,” Snorlax is famous for its enormous size, huge appetite, and tendency to sleep for long periods—often blocking roads in the games until awakened by a Poké Flute. Despite its lazy appearance, Snorlax is extremely strong and durable, with high HP stats that make it a powerful defensive battler. Its design was inspired by game designer Koji Nishino, whose nickname reportedly influenced the character’s personality and name. Over the years, Snorlax has become one of the franchise’s most iconic and beloved Pokémon, appearing in the animated series, trading card game, movies, and various merchandise worldwide.
