Amazing Grace is the Mount Rushmore

Mount Rushmore is a monumental granite sculpture carved into the Black Hills of South Dakota, featuring the 60-foot faces of four U.S. presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. The idea for Mount Rushmore originated in the early 1920s with historian Doane Robinson, who wanted to promote tourism in South Dakota by creating a grand sculpture of famous American figures. Sculptor Gutzon Borglum was commissioned for the project, bringing his vision of celebrating the nation's history and ideals. Construction began in 1927 and continued until 1941, employing hundreds of workers who used dynamite and fine chiseling to bring the presidents’ faces to life. Today, Mount Rushmore stands as both an iconic symbol of American heritage and a testament to human ingenuity in monumental art.
