Keroppi is known to have many family members to resemble himself, and has a girlfriend named Keroleen. His best friend is Den Den, a snail, though in Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures, Keroppi is also very close with Badtz-Maru.

Kuriboh has an interesting effect that lets you discard it from your hand in order to make the damage inflicted to your life points by an opponent's monster 0. The main differences between Kuriboh and Waboku is that Kuriboh can't be countered but only targets one monster unlike Waboku.
