Harlequin is a name used by several characters in DC Comics, primarily associated with illusion, disguise, and sometimes romantic ties to Alan Scott, the Golden Age Green Lantern. Her first appearance was in the All-American Comics #89 in 1947 with creators Robert Kanigher and Irwin Hasen. She is originally a villain and romantic foil to Alan Scott akaGreen Lantern. She uses illusion-generating glasses to commit crimes and wore a jester-like costume but she later reformed and even married Alan Scott. She was a founding member of the Injustice Society, then redeemed over time.
