Dr Pepper is a carbonated soft drink that was first created in 1885 by pharmacist Charles Alderton in Waco, making it one of the oldest major soft drinks in the United States. Alderton developed the drink at Morrison’s Old Corner Drug Store, where he experimented with different fruit syrups to create a unique flavor blend that customers quickly grew to love. The beverage was later named by the store’s owner, Wade Morrison, reportedly in honor of a physician named Dr. Charles T. Pepper, though the exact reason for the name remains debated. Dr Pepper was first nationally introduced at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair and eventually became known for its distinct taste made from a proprietary blend of 23 flavors. Today, it is produced and distributed by Keurig Dr Pepper and remains a popular soft drink world.
