Robin - 100th Anniversary of Warner Brothers (McDonald's 2023)

Did you know?

Robin was voiced by Scott Menville  in the Cartoon Network series Teen Titans. Robin is fierce and highly disciplined, with heroic virtues based on experience and reputation and he leads the team well. As shown in the episode "Go", Robin formed the group after aiding Starfire in her escape from captivity with help from Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven. Prior to this, he left his mentor Batman to become an independent crime-fighter. The Teen Titans Go! spin-off comic reveals he is Dick Grayson, the first Robin, but this is not depicted in the series. In the future, he becomes Nightwing. Robin is best friends with Starfire, whom he secretly has romantic feelings for. Their relationship develops throughout the series, with them becoming a couple in the finale film Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo.

During the run of the Batman television series, DC editorial was approached about adding a female character back into the Batman family. Revising the character history and motivation, Julius Schwartz created Barbara Gordon. This character held the role of Batgirl from 1967 to 1988 when she was retired by DC editorial decision. The character's role was changed to a paraplegic source of information for all members of the Batman family and codenamed the "Oracle". She was later restored as Batgirl during The New 52 relaunch of the entire DC publication line in 2011. This was also the case with the DC Rebirth (2016).

Bill Finger, Bob Kane, and Jerry Robinson are credited with creating the Joker, but their accounts of the character's conception differ, each providing his own version of events. Finger's, Kane's, and Robinson's versions acknowledge that Finger showed them an image of actor Conrad Veidt in character as Gwynplaine (a man whose mouth is disfigured into a perpetual grin) in the 1928 film The Man Who Laughs as an inspiration for the Joker's appearance, and Robinson produced a sketch of a joker playing card.
