Darna is a Filipino superheroine created by writer Mars Ravelo and artist Nestor Redondo. The character's first appearance was in Pilipino Komiks (Ace Publications, Inc.) #77 on May 13, 1950. Darna is a retooling of Ravelo's earlier character, Varga, whose stories he wrote and illustrated himself. This character first appeared in Bulaklak Magazine, Volume 4, #17 on July 23, 1947. Ravelo left the Bulaklak Magazine publications due to differences with the publication's editors. One of the most popular Filipino superheroes, Darna has appeared in many films and several television series through the decades which have far overshadowed her actual comics.

Thor: Love and Thunder is a 2022 American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring the character Thor, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and the 29th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Taika Waititi, who co-wrote the script with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, and stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor alongside Christian BaleTessa ThompsonJaimie Alexander, Waititi, Russell Crowe, and Natalie Portman. In the film, Thor attempts to find inner peace, but must return to action and recruit Valkyrie (Thompson), Korg (Waititi), and Jane Foster (Portman)—who is now the Mighty Thor—to stop Gorr the God Butcher (Bale) from eliminating all gods.

For some Filipinos, Tropical Hut is still the OG burger joint in the country, as proven when the fast-food chain trended online, showing how well-loved the brand still is.

According to its company profile on Jobstreet, the fast-food chain found its beginnings in 1962 as a grocery store. The said grocery store had an in-house coffee shop where the Tropical Hut Hamburger was first served. A decade later, in 1972, the fast-food chain was acquired by the Mercury Group of Companies, Inc., founded by Mariano Que. This year, the brand is celebrating 60 years in business.

First aired back in 1978, this Japanese super-robot anime became every kid’s fantasy until it was stopped not by the Boazanians but by the government then led by former President Marcos.

It was reported that Voltes V will not be airing anymore due to its “excessive violence” and “harmful effects on children.”

But according to some people, the reason behind its stoppage was because of its “rebellious theme” that didn’t sit well with the Marcoses.

In 1975, 22-year old Tony Tan Caktiong, who would later be the president and CEO of Jollibee Foods Corporation, opened 2 Magnolia Ice Cream shops, one in Cubao and the other in Quiapo. 

By popular demand, he added sandwiches and hot meals to the menu which soon became more popular than the ice cream.

Finally, in 1978, Tan Caktiong transitioned his business into fast-food restaurants and the rest as they say is history.
