Tuxedo Sam and Chip the Baby Seal are a charming duo from Sanrio Japan, often featured together in merchandise (like this squishy toy) that highlights their sweet, nautical-themed friendship. Tuxedo Sam, a plump blue penguin known for his love of bow ties and refined manners, is frequently shown caring for Chip, a tiny baby seal who is playful, gentle, and full of curiosity. Sanrio releases various collaborative items—such as plush toys, stationery, and seasonal goods—showcasing their cute interactions, with Chip often perched beside or playfully clinging to Tuxedo Sam. Their pairing emphasizes warmth, companionship, and classic Sanrio nostalgia, making them popular among collectors who appreciate vintage-style character designs.
