The Walt Disney Productions Bowl (Japan melaware) refers to vintage licensed Disney tableware produced in Japan, most commonly from the 1960s–1980s, made of melamine (often called “melaware”), a durable plastic popular for children’s dishes. These bowls typically feature classic Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Winnie the Pooh, printed in bright, playful colors with the Walt Disney Productions copyright stamp on the base, along with “Made in Japan.” Designed to be lightweight, shatter-resistant, and easy to clean, they were widely sold domestically in Japan and exported internationally. Today, Japanese Disney melamine bowls are sought after by collectors for their nostalgic designs, quality manufacturing, and as examples of mid-to-late 20th-century licensed character merchandise.
