Sandman from the Spider-Man Classics line by Toy Biz was released in 2004 as part of the early Marvel Legends–style figures focused on Spider-Man characters. Based on Flint Marko’s classic comic-book appearance, the figure stood about 6 inches tall and featured Toy Biz’s then-advanced articulation, including ball-jointed shoulders, hips, and knees. A standout feature was the inclusion of interchangeable sand-effect hands, allowing collectors to display Sandman with oversized mallet or clenched fists formed from hardened sand, capturing his shapeshifting powers.
