Catwoman is one of DC Comics’ most iconic characters, debuting as “the Cat” in Batman #1 in 1940 and later evolving into Selina Kyle, Gotham City’s famed cat burglar who blurs the line between villain and anti-heroine and has a long, complex relationship with Batman. She’s published by DC Comics and licensed through Warner Bros. for adaptations, merchandise, and media worldwide, including in Canada and Australia. In addition to numerous comic book series and graphic novels, the character has appeared in films, TV, and videogames; a notable licensed tie-in video game titled Catwoman—developed by Argonaut Games and published by Electronic Arts in collaboration with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment—was released in Australia on 30 July 2004, coinciding with the live-action Catwoman movie that year.
