Nippon Kodo Mainichiko Sadakichi-kun Incense Holder (Japan)

Saidhichi-kun (more commonly spelled Sadakichi-kun) is a cheerful mascot character created by the Japanese incense company Nippon Kodo, best known for representing its long-running Mainichiko incense line. Depicted as a smiling, kimono-clad boy inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics, Sadakichi-kun embodies warmth, simplicity, and the calming presence of incense in everyday life. The character has appeared on packaging, promotional materials, and collectible items such as incense holders, helping to make incense use feel friendly and approachable to families and younger generations. Through Sadakichi-kun, Nippon Kodo blends heritage, craftsmanship, and gentle humor, reinforcing the idea of incense as a comforting daily ritual rather than a strictly ceremonial practice.

Nippon Kodo does produce a wide range of incense burners and holders in various styles (cast iron, ceramic, Yume-no-Yume, Yukari, etc.) to pair with its long-established incense brands such as Mainichi-Koh (introduced in 1912 as Nippon Kodo’s signature everyday incense)
