Jibanyan Yo-Kai Watch Banpresto (2014)

Jibanyan is one of the most iconic characters from the Yo-kai Watch franchise created by Level-5. He is a cute, red-and-white cat Yo-kai with two ghostly blue flames called “soul flames” floating near his tails, symbolizing his spirit form. In his backstory, Jibanyan was once an ordinary pet cat named Rudy who became a Yo-kai after an unfortunate accident, and he now lingers in the human world with a determined (and often comedic) desire to prove himself strong—especially by challenging trucks he believes wronged him. Despite his tough attitude, Jibanyan is loyal, kind-hearted, and loves snacks like chocobars, making him a fan-favorite companion to the main protagonist throughout the series’ games, anime, and merchandise.

The Jibanyan Yo-kai Watch Banpresto figure released in 2014 is part of a line of Japanese “prize figures,” which are collectible items typically obtained through arcade crane games rather than standard retail purchase. Produced by Banpresto, this Jibanyan figure—often released in themed seasonal variants like the 2014 winter version—was made of PVC and stood around 16 cm tall, featuring the character’s iconic red cat design with expressive details and accessories such as a scarf. These figures were distributed mainly in Japan and became popular among fans for their affordability, detailed sculpting, and limited availability, making them desirable collectibles that reflect the early merchandising boom of Yo-kai Watch during its peak popularity in 2014.
