Poison Ivy first appeared in the Batman #181 published on June 1966. She was created by Robert Kanigher and Sheldon Moldoff. The original concept for her was inspired by 1940s pulp villainesses and femme fatales, Poison Ivy was introduced as a seductive eco-terrorist with a deadly touch.
