Did you know?
Superman — the original superhero and enduring symbol of hope, strength, and justice — is one of the most iconic characters in all of fiction. Here's a deep dive into the Man of Steel! His real name is Kal-El while his earth name is Clark Kent. He first appeared in the Action Comics #1 on June 1938 with Jerry Siegel (writer) & Joe Shuster (artist). Superman was born as Kal-El on the doomed planet Krypton. His scientist father, Jor-El, launched him to Earth in a rocket just before the planet exploded. Discovered and adopted by farmers Jonathan and Martha Kent in Smallville, Kansas, the boy grew up as Clark Kent, learning to use his powers for good. Upon adulthood, he moved to Metropolis, became a reporter at the Daily Planet, and fought for “truth, justice, and a better tomorrow” as Superman.
