Grimace/Fries Kids Glass - Collector's Meal (McDonald's 2024)

Did you know?

Grimace is one of McDonald's most iconic mascots, known for his large, purple, rotund appearance and friendly demeanor. Introduced in 1971 as part of the McDonaldland advertising campaign, Grimace has undergone significant character development over the years.

Origins and Evolution

Evil Grimace (1971): Grimace debuted as "Evil Grimace," a four-armed villain who stole milkshakes from McDonaldland residents. His menacing appearance and behavior were intended to personify the perils of gluttony.

Friendly Grimace (1972–Present): Due to negative reception, McDonald's rebranded Grimace in 1972 as a lovable, two-armed character with a simple, childlike personality. This transformation shifted his role from antagonist to Ronald McDonald's good-natured sidekick.
