Coca-Cola is one of the world’s most iconic beverages, with a rich history and a diverse product lineup. Coca-Cola was invented on May 8, 1886, by Dr. John Stith Pemberton, a pharmacist in Atlanta, Georgia. Initially marketed as a medicinal tonic, the drink was made from coca leaf extract and kola nut caffeine, which inspired its name. Pemberton’s bookkeeper, Frank M. Robinson, coined the name "Coca-Cola" and designed its distinctive script logo. In 1889, the rights to Coca-Cola were sold to Asa Griggs Candler, who incorporated The Coca-Cola Company in 1892. Under Candler’s leadership, Coca-Cola expanded rapidly through aggressive marketing and a franchised bottling system.
