Cheez Whiz Mascot (Philippines)

The cheese-spread Cheez Whiz — as marketed in the Philippines — features a distinctive anthropomorphic cow mascot (sometimes called “Cowcium” by local fans) who shows up on Cheez Whiz commercials and jar designs. The mascot is described as a cow with blue eyes, occasionally rendered all-white or with black patches, and often shown licking its lips on jar labels. The commercials themselves use a claymation-style animation, giving the impression the cow is made of modeling clay rather than drawn or computer-animated. Kraft Foods (now part of Mondelez International) introduced Cheez Whiz globally in 1952 in the U.S. — the product reportedly became available in the Philippines around 1967. What remains unclear — and not publicly documented — is the exact date the cow mascot first appeared in Philippine ads or packaging. The earliest widely accessible Philippine-market ads you can find are from the 2000s and 2010s.
