Benji the dog from R. Dakin & Co. is a vintage plush toy produced in the late 1970s and early 1980s, inspired by the famous mixed-breed canine star of the Benji films. R. Dakin & Co., known for its high-quality licensed plush characters, created Benji with a soft, shaggy coat, stitched facial details, and a signature collar that matched the look of the movie dog. The toy was designed to capture Benji’s gentle, expressive appearance, making it popular among children and collectors during the height of the character’s fame. Today, Dakin’s Benji plushes are considered nostalgic collectibles, often sought after by fans of classic family films and vintage character toys.
