The Hello Kitty and Tiny Chum Lunch Box released by Sanrio in 1993 is a charming example of early 1990s character merchandise that combined practicality with cute design. Featuring Hello Kitty alongside a small teddy bear companion, the lunch box typically showcases pastel colors, playful illustrations, and a compact, durable plastic or tin construction suited for school use. During this era, Sanrio expanded its global popularity by producing everyday items like lunch boxes, making them both functional and collectible. Today, this 1993 piece is appreciated by collectors for its nostalgic value, classic artwork, and representation of Sanrio’s signature “kawaii” aesthetic.
