The Gus Griswold Happy Meal toy from Disney's Recess was released by McDonald's in 1999 as part of a promotional set based on the animated series. Gus, known for his neurotic and anxious personality, was depicted in the toy series with a distinctive accessory, a golf club which highlights his character's quirks. Gustav Patton "Gus" Griswold is one of the six main characters and was originally the newest member of The Recess Gang, although it is revealed in Recess: All Growed Down that he actually knew the gang in kindergarten. He is Polish-American.
